FBI Joins Hunt For Killer Of Rocky Mount Women

The FBI has joined the investigation of the deaths of five Rocky Mount women whose bodies were found in the same rural area of North Carolina.

WRAL-TV reported that Rocky Mount Police Chief John Manley said the FBI is going through tips and other information about the case.

The bodies of two women were found in a field between Battleboro and Whitakers in Edgecombe County. They were 31-year-old Joarniece Latonya Hargrove and 35-year-old Jackie Nikelia Thorpe. Also found in the same area were the bodies of 50-year-old Ernestine Battle; 29-year-old Melody LaShae Wiggins; and 28-year-old Taraha Shenice Nicholson.

A sixth body found in February has yet to be identified, and three other missing women with similar descriptions and backgrounds are missing.

I wonder why this story is not being discussed at all on my local news. It is after all an important safty issue for the community. I know a lot of people in that area who are unaware of these murders going on.

It is about time that they got on board. With all the carrying on about the Sheriff and Police "not doing anything" about the deaths of these girls the SBI or FBI should have taken over the investigation long ago. Hopefully they will be able to use some of their resources to resolve this.
