Rocky Mount police have made a shooting arrest and are investigating several crimes.
On June 4, officers responded to a shots fired call in the Cedarbrook area. They say two witnesses identified Taurean Pittman as being the person who fired a shotgun in the area. Pittman was taken into custody and charged with discharging a firearm inside the city limits and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $1000.
On June 5, just after two a.m., officers responded to a shooting in progress at 815 Gay Street. Lawmen say two people were outside near a vehicle and one person was inside the vehicle when a man started shooting. Several shots hit the vehicle, a house and trailer. No one was hurt. The gunman is still on the loose.
On June 4, someone broke into K&L Motors on Church Street and stole a dirt bike out of the garage.
Rocky Mount police are also searching for the person or persons who pried open the rear door of a home on Hargrove Street and stole a television, DVD player and jewelry on June 4.
