Embarq Closing Rocky Mount Call Center

A day after it was announced that Nash County would gain a hundred new jobs we learn than 51 jobs are leaving because of a closing.

Embarq tells the North Carolina Department of Commerce that its call center on North Washington Street will close in the second half of June.

The company says the call center closure is permanent. There are 49 operators and 2 supervisors who work at the center.

Oh great, I look forward to many more customer service calls to god knows where, talking to either felons, or others from the country of blouhemia that can barely speak the English language. Gotta love outsourcing!!!!

If you go online and read they are not out sourcing, they are merging with another company that also is not out sourcing, so they are consolidating call centers.

Pretty sure these Jobs are headed to India. I think we should boycott these companies. Seems if you don't, your job could be next. If you don't believe this call customer service. We recently discovered this. There is a trend to do this with US companies. Some have discovered this wasn't a good idea when they actually had to use this foreign service.
