POLICE: Child's Death Not Suspicious

Rocky Mount police now say a child's death over the weekend is not suspicious.

Police say 10-year-old Daekwon Brodie died Saturday at Nash General Hospital. At first police thought a possible assault was involved, but say now subsequent investigation has revealed that did not occur.

Police say no further investigation into the child's dead is warranted and the family is not under any investigation.

Carol is exactly right, it is not our business why the child died, the family should be left to grieve the lose of their child. Carol, I do not think WITN owes anyone an apology.. The reason I say that, news is reported to them, they do not make up the stories and the contents within the story. The story says that the police had initially thought an assault had occured but was later determined to not be true. WITN did not imply that the parents had any hand in that.

The cause of death is not our business but I do think WITN owes the family an apology for the earlier story implying he was abused or whatever it said. I can't remember the details and of course the story can't be found now.
