A former Rocky Mount cop has been indicted for altering, destroying or stealing criminal evidence.
Korrin Lofton was fired back in December and he turned himself in Monday.
Police will not say what evidence Lofton is accused tampering with. They will only say that they received allegations of police misconduct in November and that led to an internal investigation. A news release says that investigation showed no evidence of other employees being involved.
The 28-year-old Lofton was a police officer in Rocky Mount for three years. He was released on a $10,000 bond.
