Butterfield Tours Company Planning To Expand

One Congressman visited eastern Carolina Monday to take a tour of a company that promises to triple it's work force within the next couple of years.

G.K. Butterfield toured the World Cat facilities in Tarboro. The luxury boat builder is investing 2.7 million dollars with the help of a $130,000 state grant from the One North Carolina fund to create 120 new jobs within the next three years.

Butterfield says he is impressed with the facility and more importantly the company's plan to help Edgecombe county's double-digit unemployment rate. Butterfield says, "We have a tremendous unemployment rate in Edgecombe County and they're doing something about it. They're hiring and intending to hire more people in this facility. Our economy is not doing so well right now as everyone knows. And, if we're going to turn this economy around, we got to get people working."

World Cat currently employs 60 people.

Butterfield Tours Company Planning To Expand. What happened to the wind turbines that will eliminate coal power..? Now we are proud to build "fuel" powered boats that will pollute our estuaries and kill marine life? What are you people thinking? Is it noble to have a job that destroys nature?? Kind of selfish and greedy I think. It makes Butterfield popular, he is a 3 sided coin...
