Wallace Police have arrested a suspect for the shooting death of a 9-year-old boy who was visiting the area from New York.
Authorities say Meshan Macmillian is charged with first degree murder, discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, possession of firearm by felon, and felony conspiracy to commit murder.
Macmillian has been placed in jail without a bond.
Police say 9-year-old Leon Halley III was shot around 4 p.m. while inside a relatives home on Satchell Street in Wallace Saturday.
Relatives say Halley was inside playing video games when the doorbell rang. They say he got up to go get it and a bullet came through the back window and killed him.
The family was visiting the area from New York.
Police believe the shooting is based on a long-running feud among different factions. They do not believe the boy was the intended target.
Police say they are still looking into the possibility of more suspects that were involved.
