Trooper W.K. Bennett with The Highway Patrol says Jones County deputies and EMS crews responded to a wreck about 7:40 p.m. Friday on Highway 58 at Nobles Loop Road about a mile north of Trenton for a wreck between a car and van involving 8-9 people. All were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Bennett says the driver of the van was even life-flighted as a precaution.
Bennett says a Volvo traveling west on Nobles Loop Road stopped at a stop sign, then ran in front of a white van on Highway 58. The driver of the Volvo is charged with failure to yield the right of way.
Bennett says the van was carrying 6-7 farm workers plus the driver and the driver was the only person in the Volvo.
