FIRST ON WITN: Ten Arrested In Jones County Drug Operation

Ten people are under arrest after a drug sweep in Jones County.

Sheriff deputies say they executed seven search warrants last Wednesday where they seized an AR-15 semi-automatic weapon, drugs and counterfeit cash.

The searches were part of a joint operation by the Jones County Sheriff's Office, the SBI, Immigration Customs Enforcement, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement, Craven County Sheriff's Office and Maysville police.

The 41 charges are all drug related, included cocaine and marijuana offenses.

The Sheriff's Office says more details will be released later this afternoon.

Good job , now if they can just focus closer to home, say across the street from their office and lets also say the next block over with folks you would least expect. I think there is more pretty much under their nose but I guess in time they will get those folks also. Good job Danny Heath and the Jones Co. Sheriffs Dept.

Eliminate illegal drug sales in Jones County, and unfortunately, there will be no business enterprises remaining in the county. Poverty and no jobs are contributing to the drug problem in this county. However, I am worried the county will exhaust all their limited financial resources and the drug dealers will prevail.

Kudos to WITN for not using the usual liberal media tactic of referring to the rifle as an "assault weapon".
