Senus Lofton of Dudley has been charged with three counts of trafficking in MDA/MDMA, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver schedule I controlled substance, manufacture schedule I controlled substance, and maintain a vehicle of schedule I controlled substance.
The man was stopped last Tuesday at Hargett's Crossroads on Highway 258 as deputies were checking driver licenses. As a deputy walked up to the driver's side window, she noticed the odor of alcohol. While the driver was not impaired, a consensual search of the vehicle found an open container of alcohol. The driver then attempted to stop the search and a K-9 unit was brought in. The dog alerted to the glove box of the SUV.
Lofton was released after posting a $50,000 bond.
