A man accused of murder has been waiting for his day in court for three years, and that day is Monday.
District Attorney Ernie Lee says jury selection will begin Monday for Dennis Lewis of Jacksonville. He was arrested in late January of 2011 for the murder of a Pollocksville man, Edward Bell III.
Online records show Lewis is in central prison now, though court calendars for Jones County show he is due to face a judge for a felony murder charge on Monday.
Deputies said the 62-year-old Bell was shot to death at his Highway 58 home in Pollocksville on Thursday, January 20, 2011. Five days later, Lewis was arrested and charged with an open count of murder.
We will keep you posted on the trial.
