Big Turnout On First Day Of Early Voting In Pitt County

The first day of early voting in Pitt County started off slow but ended with a pretty big turnout.

By the end of the day Thursday 425 people had voted. That compares to 176 on the first day of early voting for the last municipal election two-years ago.

Pitt County Elections Director Dave Davis only expects about 3,000 of Pitt County's 114,000 registered voters to take part in early voting.

The early voting runs through November 2nd.
