A veteran Eastern Carolina prosecutor got a job promotion today.
Ernie Lee was sworn in as the new district attorney for the state's 4th prosecutorial district. That district is made up of Duplin, Jones, Onslow and Sampson counties.
Lee ran unopposed last year after then-district attorney Dewey Hudson decided to run for state senate. The New Bern native is no stranger to the D.A.'s office having been an assistant district attorney since 1987, and chief assistant D.A. since 2002.
Lee was sworn into office by Senior Resident Superior Judge Charles Henry at the Onslow County courthouse.
