TROOPERS: Alcohol Involved In Weekend Fatal Crash
A Mount Olive man is dead after troopers say his vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree this weekend.
Dead is 37-year-old Robert Walker. Troopers say alcohol was involved in the 12:30 a.m. Sunday crash on Beautancus Road in Duplin County.
They say Walker died on the scene after his vehicle ran off to the road side of the road, he overcorrected, and the vehicle then went off the other side of the highway, hitting a tree on the driver's door.
Troopers say Walker was the only person in the vehicle.
