Motorcycle Team Puts On Quite A Show

A motorcycle drill team from Eastern Carolina is considered by some the "Blue Angels" on wheels.

Darrell Bell formed his NC precision drill team several years ago after seeing a similar one in South Carolina. Now the team practices every weekend at Jones Senior High School when they're not competing.

With each bike weighing around 900 pounds Bell says it's taken hours of practice, trust and patience to pull off every maneuver. "We've got to trust the guys you ride with knowing they're going to go the way they're supposed to go--cause if one person goes wrong it's usually not pretty."

During the routine--the lead man--which is usually Bell--calls out a series of commands through a built in helmet headset--the team in turn responds.

Bell and his team are looking forward to the organization of an international drill team competition--which he says could happen as early as July.

I wish there were more stories like this on the news. We have gotten so negative as a society that we forget to focus on the good things in life.

Slight difference in the motorcycles and jets. Jets don't just tip over when there is an error in judgment.
