An elementary school was on lockdown Tuesday afternoon as lawmen conducted a nearby manhunt.
Duplin County School Superintendent Dr. Auston Obasohan says they locked down Chinquapin Elementary School as a precautionary measure. He said classes were able to dismiss at regular time.
Deputies say around 1:00 p.m. they stopped a car on suspicion of narcotics near the fire department. Two people in the car ran from lawmen and the manhunt began.
Deputies, state troopers and the SBI searched the area and eventually found one of the men, while they now know the name of the other man and are continuing to search for him.
