Lawmen in one Eastern Carolina county continue to search for a man they say caused a crash that injured a mother and her young son.
David Obrien is wanted for this morning's hit and run accident on Highway 17 in Maysville. The crash happened around 6:30 a.m.
Trooper Bryant Kirk says they believe Obrien spent the night with friends outside of Jacksonville, and when the woman went to leave this morning she found her van gone, along with Obrien.
Kirk says Obrien crashed the van in Maysville, hitting on oncoming car. The woman in the other vehicle and her four year old son were send to CarolinaEast Medical Center for their injuries. Witnesses say they last saw Obrien running away.
Obrien is wanted on charges of felony fleeing the scene involving injuries.
