A convicted felon is back behind bars in Jones County after police say he shot and killed his pit bulls after they attacked a man.
Lawrence Hill Jr. of Maysville was arrested and charged for the dog attack and with possession of a firearm by a felon. Police say the dogs were unsecured in the Long Point area of Jones County when they attacked a man. The victim had non-life threatening injuries to his leg. Police say Hill shot and buried the dogs, and they had to be dug up and turned over to the Jones County animal control officer to be tested for rabies.
