Members of the Jones County Senior track team have another big hurdle this coming season. The problem is, the team has no hurdles to jump over.
Deputies say someone has stolen 50 track hurdles from the high school in Trenton. They're worth $5,000.
The hurdles were noticed missing after the coach returned from being out sick. They are black and white Fisher-brand hurdles. Deputies are contacting metal scrap yards and recycling centers throughout the area to make sure they are on alert for the stolen hurdles.
Anyone with information on the theft should call the Jones County Sheriff's Office at 252-448-7091.
