A family is homeless after a fire Monday morning.
Officials tell WITN the fire started in a back bedroom of a mobile home on Smalltown Road in Jones County near Pleasant Hill about 8:15 a.m. Monday.
Family members got out safely with no injuries. An Onslow County firefighter and a Jones County firefighter were overcome by heat and had to be treated at the scene.
Officials report the family does not have insurance. The Red Cross is working to help.
The fire marshal reports the mobile home is 75% destroyed. There’s no word on what started the fire.
