A Duplin County family is mourning the loss of three family members, while two others were seriously injured in a vehicle crash in Mexico.
It happened last Wednesday as the family was returning to Beulaville after visiting relatives in Mexico.
Killed was Tomasa Garcia, and her two sons, Raul and Johnny. Raul Garcia's two children were also in the truck. One remains in a Mexican hospital waiting for surgery.
Family members say the truck lost control in a heavy rain and it flipped over several times.
Johnny Garcia was a father of seven children, while his brother was a single father of two kids.
So far the family has spent $12,000 to bring two of the three bodies back to Duplin County, while they are still trying to get Rene Garcia transported to a local hospital.
"We are trying to hold everyone together the best we can through brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles, cousins, grandchildren. Just all rallying together," said Amy Garcia.
An online fund has been set up to help the Garcia family with medical and funeral expenses. You can click here to visit the website.
