A woman has been charged after a deadly accident late Tuesday afternoon.
State troopers say it happened around 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Summerlins Crossroad Road and Red Hill Road, north of Kenansville.
Kimberly Harrelson of Fuquay-Varina is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield. Killed in the two vehicle crash was Pedro Cedallos of Mount Olive.
Troopers say Harrelson was east on Red Hill Road and came to a stop at the intersection. She tried going through the intersection when she hit the 55-year-old man's car. Cedallos' car ran off the road, onto its side and struck a tree.
Troopers say alcohol is not suspected in the crash.
