Jones County deputies have arrested three men after a meth lab bust Friday. A deputy was injured during the bust.
Deputies say on Friday they went to a home on Cobb Road in Jones County, near the Lenoir County line, to pick up a suspect wanted for trafficking and manufacturing methamphetamine. That suspect is Brandon Humphreys.
When deputies got to the home they saw marijuana. They were able to get a search warrant and that's when they found a meth lab inside the home and a mobile meth lab inside a car parked outside of the home.
Brandon Humphreys, Walter Herring III, and Christopher Price are all charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. They were arrested and are now in jail under no bond.
Humphreys is also facing previous charges in Lenoir County of trafficking methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling of a controlled substance.
During the search and clean-up process a Jones County deputy was injured. Officials believe Leila Groom inhaled sulfuric acid. She was treated at the hospital and later released. She is expected to be back at work on Wednesday.
