A Jones County couple who were accused of running a puppy mill will not be allowed to own any pets for the next five years.
Glenn and Joyce Brown today pleaded guilty to 19 animal cruelty charges as their trial was beginning in Superior Court.
In May, a district court judge found the couple guilty of 38 animal cruelty counts. At the time the couple said they would appeal.
Earlier this year deputies and animal rights activists discovered nearly 90 dogs on the couple's property.
Today the judge sentenced the two to suspended sentences, and probation for five years. During that probation they cannot own any pets.
