An Eastern Carolina man says he plans to use $750,000 he won in the state lottery to help his immediate family.
Cosme Padilla-Lanza, a construction supervisor from Rose Hill, scratched off his $10 ticket in the parking lot of the Scotchman on Sycamore Street. “I saw that I had matched the number but I thought I had maybe won five hundred dollars,” Padilla-Lanza said. “It’s unbelievable. First we’re going to the bank, but then we’re going to celebrate.”
He won playing the Jumbo Bucks Game and so far is the largest scratch-off prize winner in Duplin County.
After taxes, Padilla-Lanza will get a $510,0003 check.
