Authorities in one Eastern Carolina county say a jail escapee didn't have his freedom for very long.
Duplin County Sheriff Blake Wallace says Toby Henderson walked off a work detail Tuesday. Wallace says the man was washing cars in Kenansville when he escaped.
The sheriff says Henderson was picked up Wednesday morning around 2:30 a.m. near his home in Catawba County. Henderson was originally in jail for failure to pay child support, but the sheriff says the man is now been charged with escape and that additional charges are pending.
