Jail Escapee Now Back Behind Bars

Authorities in one Eastern Carolina county say a jail escapee didn't have his freedom for very long.

Duplin County Sheriff Blake Wallace says Toby Henderson walked off a work detail Tuesday. Wallace says the man was washing cars in Kenansville when he escaped.

The sheriff says Henderson was picked up Wednesday morning around 2:30 a.m. near his home in Catawba County. Henderson was originally in jail for failure to pay child support, but the sheriff says the man is now been charged with escape and that additional charges are pending.

It is not the mom or child's fault that a man won't pay or be there for the child or children. And why not blame the child support worker everytime you talk to them they give you a dumb excuse on why you haven't receive your child support and they don't try to help when they know they can.

Thank you Anon, Justice must owe child support too. By the way, don't assume a child support worker is a female because I am not.

to Justice, child support woker did not break the law. it is now a matter of "public record" that anyone can reveal by law. if anything she could have violated policy but not law, it is public record and has been since he wqas entered into the system.

Aside from the issue, "child support worker" at 2:24 just broke the law/rules by revealing details about the case to the readers here. That is in violation of the rules they have to follow, now go tell your superviser and the DA in your county if you are an honest person. Or just post your name here and I will make the calls myself.

I belive in jail time when you can find them.Deadbeat parents will do anything to avoid child support this is most appalling to me a man would be willing to break all ties with his child and in effect say "I no longer want be part of your life" just to save some buck. The damage that is caused by this act is irreparable, the child is clearly told is not important and does not matter and that money is of more importance. It is disgraceful and appalling.Even if a man has previously had little contact with the child this legal maneuver still sets the child up very clearly as someone who is not wanted.

I can understand parents who fall behind on child support due to job loss or unforeseen circumstances but $15,000.00.This is a deadbeat dad who has the means to pay,but willingly fail to pay child support ordered by the court. There has to be consequences!Garnishing pay, offsetting federal and/orstate income tax refunds, most states suspend license(i.e. drivers, businessand contractor)and yes Enforcing jail time

Wonder why the mother of his child, doesn't do mediation and say something like "ok,give me such and such dollars by such and such time" and I will sign off on all arrears?I did and it kept my ex out of jail and bonding with his kids while trying to get over his hard times.Makes perfect sense for all involved especially the kids.
