Car Crashes Into Restaurant

Customers who were inside a local restaurant are lucky to be alive after a car plowed right through the front doors.

Witnesses say an elderly couple was traveling on highway 17 in Maysville around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon when the driver crossed over the two lane road, hit a car in the parking lot of Pop's Main Street Diner, and then slammed into it.

No one was hurt inside or outside the building. Owner Peter Morphis had to close his restaurant until he can get the money to repair it.

Witnesses say the elderly woman driving had no recollection of what happened. There's no word on whether charges will be filed or not.

All too common these days. She may have had a stroke, which is also more common behind the wheel than people know.
