Child Struck by Vehicle and Killed

Officials say an 8-year-old boy was killed Saturday morning in Beulaville after a vehicle struck him when he ran out onto the highway.

It happened on NC 41 right in front of the boys home on 1459 South NC 41 in Duplin County according to officials.

They say 8-year-old Malachi Davis ran across the highway for an unknown reason and was struck by a vehicle. They say he was then transported to New Hanover Regional Medical where he later died of his injuries.

Officials say this accident is still under investigation.

My prayers go out to this child's family, but also to the driver of the car--there was nothing he could do to avoid this tragedy, the child ran across the road at full speed, never looking, never slowing, never knowing the danger he was in; and yet there will be hard times ahead for this person in dealing with this accident. And, yes, I saw it happen.

Prayers for strength and comfort going out for this precious family. Jesus has a rocking chair, and He holds little Malachi with oh such tender care.

Such a sad story to hear, I guess mama didn't want to leave you here, maybe she asked god to bring you home. Sometimes things happen for a reason we will never understand, I just ask God to hold Daddy and husband in his arms and give them guidance and strength in all that he can do. God bless you in your time of need.

So sad, especially when an innocent child is the victim. My prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

We came through right after this happened while people were tending to him in the road. Our family is so saddened to hear of his passing. Memory Eternal! God please hold him and his mother in your arms now. Lord Have Mercy. Please be with the driver of the vehicle and all those directly or indirectly involved.

I know this family personally, and my heart aches to know they are facing yet another tragic death in their family. Tiffani was a beautiful and loving mama and wife that would give anything for her family. She didn't want to leave them, but she had no choice. Now little Malaki is in his mama's arms. My prayer go out to the family and my God give them the strenght they need to deal with this devastating loss of a son and brother.
