Man Hit By Truck In Jones County

Sources tell WITN News a man was hit by a truck in Jones County.

It happened about 9:00 a.m. Friday some five or six miles down a farm road, near the corner of Highway 58 and Highway 41 west of Trenton.

Sources say some of the man’s injuries include a broken arm and broken leg.

An EastCare helicopter was called, but the man was taken by ambulance to CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern.

Sources say the man was critically injured, but officials are unable to tell us his condition at this time.

    Anon, how do you know this was at a job site? There is no mention of this in the story. And there are only two other comments before yours and none of them were negative. Plus the story did not say anything about him dying, just he was in critical condition. And I do agree God has a plan but not that ALL accidents happen for a reason.

    For those who don't know this happened on a job site. Accidents happen and they happen for a reason. Although, we do not know always no the reasons....God has a plan. He was a devoted and giving man who loved his family dearly. Please do not disrespect the family by putting comments that are negative. He is in a better place without a doubt and is looking down at us right now. You mean the world to all of your friends and family! One day we will meet again.

    This is 8 miles from my house. I see older people walking across the highway to get mail & newspapers regularly. @ 55mph, it's easy to misjudge a car's approach. Hope the person survives...but if they are older, they might not.
