Court Date For Local Man Charged With Death By Vehicle

The man charged with the death of a 17 year old teen in the east, is scheduled to head back to court Friday morning.

57 year old William Small faces misdemeanor death by motor vehicle in Jones county.

Authorities say, back in January, Small was driving in excess of 100 miles per hour with three other passengers.

17 year old Taylor Elks of New Bern was killed in the crash. The others, including Small's son was injured in the crash.

    Just want to mention something. People riding in trucks DO NOT have to wear seat belts. She was old enough to decide if she wanted to wear one or not. She took drivers ed. NO, he should not have been driving like an idiot but I think this precious girl would still be here if she was wearing her seat belt.
