Water On The Roads

It may not be raining anymore but Eastern Carolina is still experiencing the effects of the latest washout. Water is covering the roads in several places throughout multiple counties.

In Lenoir county, Kinston’s Neuse Road is closed due to a culvert being damaged from the recent heavy rainfall.

Duplin County has two roads to watch out for HC Powers Road, west of Wallace, and Hallsville Road, West of Beulaville near South Williams Road. Both roads are closed due to flooding.

Early Station Road near Powellsville in Bertie County is closed because of high water. To avoid the flooded area follow SR 1200 from the intersection of SR 1228 to US 13 and then follow US 13 to Ahoskie.

Craven County is also seeing some flooding. Streets Ferry Road in Vanceboro is closed. There is a detour to get around the flooded area. From Streets Ferry follow U.S. 17 business to Highway 118, turn left onto Piney Neck Road and follow it back to Streets Ferry Road.

Martin County is also experiencing standing water on roads throughout the county. Officials ask that you drive with extra care throughout the area.
