High School Student Killed In ATV Accident

Friends and family members are mourning the death of a high school student.

Authorities say 16-year-old Raven Kennedy of Chinquapin was killed this weekend in an ATV accident in Duplin County.

They say she was on her ATV when it overturned Sunday. Kennedy was not wearing a helmet, according to the Jacksonville Daily News. State law requires people to wear helmets and eye protection when riding ATVs.

Kennedy was a student at East Duplin High School. Princial Scott Ballard tells WITN that a memorial service for Kennedy will be held at the high school on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.

God's next plan should be to eliminate ATV's. They are at best, "death machines", at worse, "paralyzed for life machines". Parents, if you love your children, just say no to ATV's.

Well I've read all the comments and I have to say that yes this was very tragic. I myself have struggled with Raven's death. She was a wonderful girl. But who are we to say that wearing a helmet would have saved her. God has a bigger plan than we could ever imagine and for those of you who attended her memorial you know what I'm talking about. Her life was a blessing. I feel that God is using her life and her parents testimony to deliver a message to all who will listen. Her memorial was amazing. You could feel God in your presence and I tell you something else her parents are two of the most amazing people I've ever known!

This is not about outlawing stuff or helmets. This is about my friend RaeRae. She's gone now. Don't blame her it's not her fault. I love you and miss you always Raven Nicole Kennedy!!
