Officials are investigating a fire at a home in Duplin County Saturday night. Firefighters say the blaze was so intense it took 6 fire departments and 80 firefighters to finally control it.
According to Pleasant Grove Fire Chief Fred Rouse firefighters were called to a single wide mobile home fire around 9:30 p.m. on the 400 block of Washboard Road in Mount Olive. When they got there the home was engulfed in flames.
Rouse says it took firefighters more than 3 hours to control the blaze.
No one was home at the time.
One firefighter was injured after he stepped on a nail.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
