Hog Farm Fire In Jones County

Crews were called to a fire at a hog farm in Jones County.

Authorities say the flames broke out Wednesday afternoon at the W&P farm on Wyse Fork Road in Trenton.

There is no word how many hogs died in the fire. The owner, Thomas Waller, told WITN it could have been worse. He said hogs were shipped out Wednesday morning so the building was not as full.

A fire official says the building is a total loss. There is no official word on a cause.

We have to think about this as a loss for the farmer, and it was probably alarming. Have you ever heard a pig scream?? Its god-awful and no creature should have to be burned alive. My family used to have a pig farm and we didn't treat our animals badly, PS, its a matter of who is taking care of them. And people who make those kinds of jokes should be ashamed of themselves.

Jimbo and Bill should be ashamed. There is a reason why both Muslims and Jews do not eat them. They are filthy animals. Aside from my religious beliefs, I also object to the forced slavery of animals for humans benefit. I am a vegan and proud of it. For you two rednecks, that is like a vegetarian, only I don't eat any animal products (such as dairy products). Have you any idea how these poor creatures are treated on the farms? If you did, you would become a vegan too.
