A suspect charged with killing a man with a machete last year has pleaded guilty to second degree murder.

Rudy Sagastume admitted he murdered Priscilio Reyes in May of last year in Rose Hill, Duplin County.

Sagastume was sentenced to 16 to 21 years.

Witnesses said Sagastume attacked Reyes with a machete which was recovered at a house in Kenansville.

Sagastume had arrived at the home with the bloody machete, claiming he had an accident.

DNA analysis confirmed that the machete had the blood of Reyes and Sagastume.

An autopsy indicated that Reyes had major cuts on his head, shoulder, and back. The wounds were consistent with being cut with a machete.

What kind of pantywaist judge only gives a cold blooded murderer like this 16 years. He should be disbarred.
