One hundred students from our state will take part in summer internships with state agencies, according to Governor Beverly Perdue's office.
The Governor announced Friday 100 North Carolina college, graduate and law students have been selected for 10-week summer internships with state agencies.
This is the 39th year for the N.C. State Government Internship program, which is coordinated by the Youth Advocacy and Involvement office in the Department of Administration.
“There is no better way to learn a job than by doing it, and these outstanding students will be provided a wide range of challenging jobs across state government this summer,” Perdue said. “They will gain real-world job skills that will give them an edge in the competitive job market and, I hope, a strong desire to seek a public service career.”
More than 700 students applied. The internships run from May 26 to July 31. Students are paid $8.25 an hour.
