9-Year-Old Killed By Tobacco Harvester

Officials tell WITN that a 9-year-old boy from Beulaville was killed Friday by a tobacco harvester.

They say Elijah Sasser was riding on top of a harvester at a tobacco farm with his father, Benjamin Sasser, when Elijah fell off. Officials say he was killed immediately.

It happened four miles south of Beulaville on Lyman road around 4:50 p.m. Friday.

No charges have been filed.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 7 p.m., followed by visitation, at Community Funeral Home chapel in Beulaville. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at East Duplin Memorial Gardens in Beulaville.
