A severe thunderstorm brought a surprise barrage of hail to part of Beaufort County this afternoon.
Beaufort, Craven and Pitt counties were under a severe thunderstorm warning for about 30 minutes. Those warnings have expired as the line of storms moved south.
Quarter-sized hail was seen outside the WITN studios in Chocowinity. So far there have been no reports of any damage.
