We know the identity of the driver who troopers say hit a motorcyclist and left the scene.
The District Attorney's Office in Craven County says 22 year old Fraqwan Jones from Greenville has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and felony failure to stop or remain at the scene when injury occurs.
Trooper R.A. Woods arrested Jones on Tuesday night.
Investigators say a gold car pulled out of the Mallard Food Shop around 10:20 a.m. Sunday morning onto Highway 55 outside of Bridgeton, hit a motorcyclist, and then took off.
According to the Highway Patrol that car failed to yield to the motorcyclist.
70-year-old Robert Venneri of New Bern attempted to avoid the car but was not able to and he overturned.
Venneri was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center with serious injuries. He later died at the hospital.
Troopers say they car is owned by Elethia Boyd, but they believe Jones was driving it at the time of the wreck.
District Attorney Scott Thomas said Jones' first appearance is scheduled for Wednesday at the Craven County Courthouse.

Troopers are now looking for the man driving the gold car with the license plate YRT5220. Troopers say they car is owned by Elethia Boyd, but they do not believe Boyd was driving the car at the time.
