Train Derailment Closes Highway 101 In Havelock

What is being called a minor train derailment has closed a busy highway in one Eastern Carolina city.

Havelock officials say Highway 101 is blocked between Cunningham Boulevard and Roosevelt Boulevard because one wheel of a freight car came off the tracks. Equipment has to be brought in to get the car back on the tracks, and officials say that could take at least an hour.

Havelock says the derailed car did not overturn and there is no immediate danger.
