We are certainly getting into that time of the year when you may be dealing with car troubles because of the cold.
Brett Dodge, who owns BDB Automotive in New Bern says checking antifreeze is one of several steps to make sure you have a smooth running car this winter.
Dodge says, "You just got to make sure your coolant levels are properly filled, and its got the proper protection. Just make sure your belts and hoses are good, heater system is working fine. Nobody wants to ride in a cold car. Besides that, make sure your air pressure is checked because when the temps go down air pressure goes down in your tires."
You also want to check your battery.
Bud Rowe, owner of Rowe's Quality Cars, says its important to have a winter checkup. Rowe says, "I would suggest anybody have their car gone over during the winter months to get the efficiency they need out of it."
Checking your car before the cold may just prevent a surprise when you try to start it on a frigid morning.
