A jewelry theft suspect had his bond increased after appearing before a judge Monday morning in Craven County.
New Bern Police say they arrested 31-year-old Gregory Hamilton of Trent Woods on December 14th. He’s been charged with two counts of breaking and entering of a residence, larceny after B&E, possession of stolen property, and obtaining property false pretense.
Officials say he’s responsible for a series of breaking and entering’s of homes throughout New Bern that have involved thousands of dollars in jewelry.
Hamltion appeared before Judge Peter Mack, Jr. At the request of District Attorney Scott Thomas, the judge increased his bond from $100,000 to $500,000. The D.A. says Hamilton is a suspect in several other break-ins.
