A plea deal has been accepted in a Craven County murder case.
Matthew Allen pleaded guilty today to the reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter for the July 2010 death of Xavier Alvarado.
Allen was sentenced to serve between 8 and 10 years in prison. He was given credit for the two years he's already served in county jail.
Police say the two men were involved in a shootout at Fox Chase Village Mobile Home Park and that Allen was also wounded.
