Perdue To Visit Areas Hit Hard By Hurricane

Gov. Beverly Perdue wants to see how eastern North Carolina is recovering five weeks after Hurricane Irene raked and flooded parts of the region.

Perdue heads out Friday morning to visit three areas hit hard by the storm. She plans to visit storm recovery centers in Bertie and Pamlico counties and travel to the Hatteras Island community of Waves.

Places like Waves are still isolated as North Carolina Highway 12 remains closed south of Nags Head after storm surge breached the road. The Department of Transportation wants the road reopened with temporary repairs early next month.

More than 28,000 people have registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for assistance from the storm that reached landfall Aug. 27. Grants of $20 million have been approved for homeowners and renters.

Lets not forget, she made the statement at a rotary club meeting, that elections should be suspended for 2 years. Is she insane? Who does she think she is? So lets just change the constituion. she knows she will never get re-elected.

Bev should stay in Raleigh. Considering the amount of hot air coming out of her office lately, the LAST thing we need in the coastal counties is a high-powered blast of smooth-talking wind emitting from her yap. Stay in Raleigh, Bev and try not to do any more damage to NC's economy and legal system in the next 13 months, and let us have our elections next fall, so we can vote you and ALL your big-government, gun-grabbing, nanny-state, bankster-owned cronies--State AND Federal--into the unemployment lines...

Saw her posing for the cameras at the FEMA site. BIG WOO! We still haven't recovered from the tornadoes of April this year and people in Windsor are still struggling from the flood last year, not to mention the flood from Floyd in 1999. I hope somebody told her about that, I didn't even get near enough to shake her hand.
