Pamlico County says it has closed its shelter Friday morning where 45 people spent the night.
County Manager Tim Buck says power remains out in a few areas of the county. He said Tideland Electric and Duke Energy indicate that all electricity will be restored by mid-afternoon.
Pamlico County will open up a shelter at 5:00 p.m.
The shelter will be at Pamlico Community College, and will be a pet-friendly shelter.
People coming to the shelter should bring necessary food and personal care items to last for the next 24 hours.
Owners must stay with their pets, which must be crated and owners have proof of current rabies vaccination.
