Man Behind Bars Following Police Chase

Lawmen in Craven County are looking for a registered sex offender who they say ran from police yesterday after a chase.

Deputies say Daryl Hill is one of three suspects in a robbery in Havelock. After a chase, two of the people in a vehicle ran from police. Deputies say the 24-year-old Hill was one of them.

Hill, who had been convicted of second degree rape, was on satellite-based monitoring and was wearing a GPS anklet. But deputies say he cut it off while running from police.

Havelock police say Marvin Norris of Havelock was arrested after the chase. He's charged with felony larceny and possession of a stolen firearm.

Police say they got a call around 4:50 p.m. from a man who said he was an armed robbery victim and was following the getaway vehicle. Officers tried to intercept the vehicle, and eventually it stopped and three people ran. Norris was caught a short time later, while police continue to look for Hill and a third suspect.

If you have seen Hill, contact the Craven County Sheriff's Office at 252-633-0498 or Crime Stoppers at 252-633-5141.
