A nurse practitioner in Eastern Carolina is nabbed in a prescription fraud undercover operation.
Morehead City police arrested Helen Vickers with 15 felonies related to prescription fraud and she's jailed on a $175,000 secured bond.
Lawmen say Vickers was arrested during a multi-agency investigation Thursday. In addition to Morehead City, police in Havelock, Jacksonville, and New Bern, as well as the SBI and Carteret County deputies were involved in the case.
Jacksonville police say they originally discovered the criminal activity that spanned into several jurisdictions. They say the investigation lasted for some 12 months and that more arrests are pending.
