Two Charged In Weekend New Bern Shooting

Two people have been charged in a weekend shooting that wounded a New Bern man.

Police say David Ligon and Marcus Maxwell, both of New Bern, were arrested Monday. They are both charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.

Police say James Harvey was shot early Saturday morning at the intersection of A Street and North Bern Street. Harvey was later released from Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

No motive has been released in the shooting and the two men charged are being held on $100,000 bonds.

A weekend shooting has police in one Eastern Carolina city looking for a gunman.

New Bern police say James Harvey of New Bern was shot early Saturday morning. The shooting happened at the intersection of A Street and North Bern Street.

Harvey was first taken to CarolinaEast Medical Center, and then moved to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where he was later released.

Right now police say they do not have any suspects in the shooting.
