A convicted sex offender is back behind bars for new charges against him.
Authorities say 33-year-old Joseph Erickson of New Bern is in the Pitt County Detention Center for failure to register as a sex offender and failure to report change of address.
The address listed in the jail in on George Street in New Bern, while the sex offender registry lists his home on Wilcox Road in New Bern.
Erickson was convicted in 2002 in Pamlico County of taking indecent liberties with a minor.
