Two sets of bridges in New Bern were shut down this morning because of icy conditions.
The Neuse River Bridge and the Trent River Bridge were both closed to traffic by authorities.
The Highway Patrol says there were four crashes on the Neuse River Bridge.
The DOT was called out early this morning to treat the bridges for black ice.
We're told the crews treated the roads just before midnight, but the snowfall and dropping temperatures caused problems.
The bridge was closed while work was done on the bridge this morning.
Authorities say the crashes were minor and all were weather related.
The bridges are connected to each other. The Neuse River Bridge carries U.S. 17 to Bridgeton, while the Trent River Bridge handles traffic from both U.S. 17 and U.S. 70.
As of 7:33 a.m. the bridges were open.
